Hi Kris..you shoud start taking the metformin as soon as you get the RX filled. You dont have to wait for your period to take it...also make sure you start taking it slowly as taking the full dosage at one time can make you very sick with gastro-intestinal problems.I am on 850mg 3x a day... I started off by taking it one time a day for a week with a meal to see how I would do...I was fine with that...just a little queezy but only if I ate too many sugary things. Then the following week 2x then the third worked my way up to 3x a day with meals. This seems to have worked for me and for some others on this board as well. .....Provera takes up to 2 weeks to induce a period sometimes after the last pill... sometimes sooner..everyones body is different, I usually only had to take it for 7 days and would start a week later.... as far as the clear plan easy monitor I start using it on cycle day 10 and keep using it till I get a surge. Last month I had to test for about 6 days till I saw my surge....I knew I would eventullay have one because I am on clomid. You should call and ask your doctors nurse on what cycle day he would like you to start using the minitor though..he may suggest something different.Dont be afraid to call your doctors office...most nurses are able to answere your questions or ask him and get back to you...that is part of what they are there for!
