Help please...was I properly tested for IR?

I've been to several doctors and have been told that I am not IR by each based on the following:

One Dr. gave me a fasting glucose test (blood drawn after fasting) of 85.

Another Dr. gave me a glucose tolerance test (blood drawn after fasting) followed by the consumption of the "glucola" and then took blood 1 hour later. I was 92 from the first draw and 134 after 60 minutes.

Another Dr. gave me a fasting glucose test and insulin test...both of which were determined from the same blood draw after a fast. The results: insulin was 9.7 uIU/ml and fasting glucose was 84 MG/DL.

I am not sure this is what you are referring to as IGTT...I have doubts whether or not I was sufficiently tested. I come from a family of Type II Diabetes and do not want to develop it. An endo told me I was showing signs of IR because I have dark patches and spots on my arms, knuckles, neck, etc...they are not very noticable...they look dirty!

ANY thoughts? I'm not sure if I need to finds yet another Dr.

THANKS!!!
