Just thought I'd put in my two cents. Not really on the side of SW, but looking at this problem logically, I think when they mean that it makes other passengers 'uncomfortable', it is not the sight of an overweight person, but rather physical discomfort and the issue of space. They probably had a lot of complaints when ie: a passenger can't physically fit into his/her seat b/c the next person is taking up half of the seat they paid for. I think this would be a problem especially if the flight is full and you are in a hurry and you can't fit into your seat b/c of the person next to you is taking up your space. Then what should the airline do, make you take the next flight (in which case, you'd probably be upset b/c why should you be the one to accomodate a stranger when you both paid for your seats?) or order the other person off?
