Well Trista I am 17 years old and I was diagnosed with PCOS in the beginning of this year in January. I was 130 pounds but I've gained about 20 more. The only thing that got bigger was my butt and thighs! Currently, I'm on birth control pills so that I can have a period every month. My gynecologist told me to lose about 10 pounds to see if that would help my periods get regulated and If I would have any trouble losing weight, she told me to contact her. She told me that I am insulin resistant and thats why a lot of PCOS women gain weight easily. I actually ignored my gyn and continued not to exercise and eat whatever. I'm still the same size but I've decided to fight PCOS so I'm listening to my gyn and doing aerobics four times a week and watching everything I eat. I've only started doing this last week but this time Im going to stick to it and see the results! I cry everyday from cramps because I have them everyday no matter what but I pray everyday that God will heal this. I saw this woman on the news who underwent acupuncture and since then she has had regular monthly cycles and even had two children! I asked my mom about this and she told me to talk to my gyn about my next visit. Maybe you can ask your doctor about Metformin if you don't seem to lose any weight. You might be insulin resistant and this will help a lot. It helps you lose weight by controlling your insulin levels and that helps you have normal cycles and restores fertility if you want to have children. My gyn wants to put me on Metformin after a year and a half of being on these bc pills because she wants all the follicles on my ovaries to dissolve first. I hope this helped you in any way any you can email me anytime. We have to fight this on our own since the doctors say that there isn't a cure for this! Take Care, Tiffany
