PCOS and the insulin resistance from PCOS made me overweight all of my life.
I was about 170 lbs. 7 yrs. ago, then I gained 60 lbs. in about 6 or 7
months with no significant changes in my eating, I was already eating too
much to support 170 lbs. but not 230 lbs. especially since I had been that
weight for several years. My PCOS symptoms escalated causing the weight
gain, increased hair growth, hair loss and skin tags. Since being on 2000
mg. glucophage xr per day (7 months) I have lost 56 lbs. It stopped me from
binging on sugars and carbs....and I was able to follow a healthy food plan,
not a diet, really. I eat 5 small meals a day and cheat occasionally. I also
walk 4 miles a day 6 days a week but I have always done this and it made no
difference in my weight until I started taking the gluc. I started at 233
lbs. and I am now 178, and still losing. Suzanne
