I have done Atkins, and yes it will help some of your symptoms. For me, I have now had a period every month that I have been on a low carb diet. Sorry to say, it hasn't helped my facial hair - but hair for me always takes a long time to change it's habits. I do think you need to find another dr, to help treat the PCOS. BCP only mask PCOS symptoms, and do not treat them. (hair being an exception I suppose.) A lot of us here take metformin / glucophage which helps treat the symptoms / underlying cause, but you will need to be diagnosed before they will offer it as treatment.
