I would say that the best way to tell is bloodwork, I believe it's progesterone levels or Luteinizing hormone, which varies during the cycle and due to ovulation. I was on Avandia having distinct cycles but no sign of ovulation. Have also been on Glucophage and not ovulated. Provera makes me menstruate but doesn't trigger ovulation. Just having a period doesn't prove you've ovulated. I did at one point have some pinching in the ovary area and thought perhaps I ovulated but it wasn't evidenced in later months' bloodwork.

I hope that didn't all sound too negative. Many individuals have become ovulatory with Glucophage/Avandia or other meds.
