As far as I know I only have PCOS. I have Type 2 diabetes, Dark hairs on my chin and tummy, Overweight, hard time losing the weight, BUT I have a period every month without fail, but I have never been pregnant. I actually bleed pretty heavy and have very back cramps, I sometimes have to stop on the side of the road if I am driving. Well my OB/GYN Dr told me that if I took the BCP now and when I was ready it would help my hormones. I guess I was in denial about not ovulating. I am on BCP cause my Dr. told me that and I should not try and get preg while on Spiro. For the possiblity of birth defects. I am 27 and have tried for years to get preg with never being on any birth control or fertility drugs either. My OB/GYN put me on Yasmin, cause it has a spiro type drug in it. I have not real bad hairs, but they are bad enough for me. The meds I am on are Gloucophage 2000mgs a day, Spirolactone 200mgs a day. I am on BCP for a few reasons. 1. I am on the Spiro and just in case I get Preg, no birth defects caused by Spiro. 2. The Dr told me it was good for me. 3. I don't want to have a baby until we are married in Jan 2004. I want a child really bad, but I want to be able to take care and provide for her/him. Plus I want to do the right thing and be married. A part of me thinks I am just fine and if I get off the BCP I will get preg, but the reality part of me knows I have no viable eggs (thats what my Endocrine Dr told me) They have taken my blood and done testosterone tests, progest test, estrogen tests. They are all not normal. The only tests they have not taken was ultra sound and ovulation tests. I have taken those at home ovulation tests when it was around the time for me to ovulate 14 days after my period and nothing ever showed up. So I figured I didn't ovulate. I hope this helps everyone understand better. THANK YOU BELLE!!!!
