Hey everyone, Thanks for all your positive, uplifting, optimistic answers. I am still concerned, though...I think I read the internet too much. I have been researching glucophage and it just doesn't seem as safe a drug as you are all suggesting. Does anyone have any links to articles that I might can read that don't sound as scary? One thing that has me concerned is that my doctor did not order any labwork such as liver panels, ect. I am trying a new doc on the 8th, since my doctor is leaving. One thing is for sure, is I really don't want to do anything until I have an established relationship with a doctor. Maybe, my diet will help me. I just hope I can stick it out. It helped once before. In defense of the Atkins diet, the induction diet is only for a short time. He does eventually incorporate healthy complex carbs later, but in a gradual manner. A little at a time due to what the individual's body can handle. I think a lot of people get confused and think the induction diet is forever. It really isn't. Thanks everyone, and please, if you do have some links that make glucophage not sound so scary let me know. Oh, I think Sonnet, you asked if I was told to "carb load" for 3 days? I was not told that. I just ate my regular diet, which consists of carbs and skipping meals. I had gone 12 hours since I had my last meal when I had the blood test. Do you think that made a difference?
