Re: What to do next??

After being diagnosed 5 years ago I had my first consultation with an
endocrinologist on Saturday. He asked me how I knew I had PCOS & I told him
how I had been diagnosed via an ultrasound. He then informed me that this is
not how PCOS is diagnosed any more, as women can have cysts without having
PCOS & they can have PCOS without having cysts. From memory he said diagnosis
is made from a variety of factors, but most importantly a blood test. As well
as an insulin resistance test and a variety of other tests that I can't
remember, I am having a blood test done that has a look at my androgen
levels, to make sure all my symptoms do not stem from an androgen problem. A
vaginal ultrasound was never mentioned as a form of diagnosis.
Hope this helped some :)
