Re: InfertilityFrom: jodi (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 16 Jun 2002 13:02:53 -0500 (CDT)
This can't really be answered. It depends on how severe your PCOS is. If you have periods on your own a few times a year, you might not have many or any problems getting pregnant naturally in a years time. If you have periods on your own very infrequently - every few years or never - obviously you will have more problems getting pregnant. If you respond well to PCOS treatments - diets or exercise or both - your chances of getting preg go way up. Once a women with PCOS gets preg, though, her risk of miscarriage can be very high... this also plays into fertility issues. PCOS can cause infertilty, but the extent to which it does so varies greatly. Some women with PCOS get pregnant with no problems. Some can't get pregnant after ten years of fertility treatments. - jodi
