I believe that Diane 35 / Dianette are the better BCPs for PCOS. I could not
get on with Marvelon (or any BCP for that matter.)
Working up with the met is better if you can get used to it. Take the 1/2
pill per day with your largest meal, about 1/2 way through the meal.
The met did not work for me until I low carbed, and have now had af every
month for five months running, with an average time span of 29 days apart,
so I am beginning to feel "normal" !!!!! (I preferred not having them, but
know it is a good sign that I am! - beggars / choosers and all that!)
The bleed may be worse if you have not had af for a while, that is my
experience anyway. My first two were horrendous, but since then very light,
and hardly noticeable compared to what I had been used to three times a
year!
Keep with it, and don't be scared to ask the doctor to try other things.
