Re: Can't get insurance because of PCOS, help!From: Victoria (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 14 Jun 2002 7:39:48 -0400
Please *don't* answer these questions on list. This is really not a PCOS topic and should be taken off list. I'd rather see people go and research the answer for themselves and form their own opinions on the matter then another on list argument. Where is all the money going to come from the support the socialized medicine system? What happens when a mistake occurs? Is anyone willing to give up their right to sue? Are you willing to accept less money in a lawsuit when a mistake occurs? How are we going to keep system abuse and use to a minimum? In the countries that have socialized medicine are they all the same background (race/religion/creed)? Explain why there was a financial crisis in England earlier with their health system. Explain why Canadian people who live on the border of the US come over here to take advantage of our medical system. Explain how doctors are going to make enough money under this system to support paying back medical school loans of (average) $100,000 or more. How will this affect drug research and disease research? How will we attract people into the nursing profession? Not as NP's, but as regular nurses. Are free clinics and related types of free/low cost medical care fully utilized now?
