SyptomsFrom: Robin (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 13 Jun 2002 14:43:29 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, let me give you my history. I had a hysterectomy in 96 took everything but ovaries. In 98 had to take my right ovary du to multiple cysts. Have been told I have a remnant on the cuff. It has a cyst on it and my left ovary has many cysts on it. I was told I probably have adhesions. I have had 5 previous abdominal surgeries. My testosterone level was high when my hormones were checked and my cholesterol is 203. ( I don't quite understand how though) In the last 6 months I have gained almost 30 pounds. I have never had a problem maintaining my weight and have been unsucessful in trying to lose weight. I have been sufferring from depression and was told all my symptoms are that of PCOS. I have some questions, could I possibly have PCOS with just the one ovary and a remnant? And if the ovaries are removed does it help the situation at all?? My doctor had recommended surgery because the remnant is on the cuff and causing lots of problems. I am 30years old and don't want to go through menopause yet but am considering letting them take both ovaries. I would appreciate anyone who could help with my questions. Sorry this was so long.
