There is a cancer risk associated with the picolinate. This showed up in mice. I am not aware of any test on humans but I do not like the nicotine portion being in my system anyhow. Since all of the test were performed by the manufacturer, and not an independent source, there is a great risk of the results being skewed. It would be in the favor of company to have good results. It could result in more sales and more profit. I would be more comfortable with studies performed by a group who did not stand to profit from the results.

When the dermatologists prescribe it for skin tags, it is usually not specified by formula and they have had good results from both the picolinate and GTF.

This is a personal assumption based on the review of the studies that I did in the past: if the skin tags are caused by insulin / sugar problems and chromium is an important factor in the metabolism of glucose, AND the skin tags go away using either formula of chromium, I assume that both formulas *can* help us with weight loss since an impairment in the metabolism of glucose can cause weight gain. I know that it is bad to make assumptions, but i *think* this works logically. Even if the GTF does not have a weight loss benefit, Chromium is good for the metabolism of glucose and I will take all of the help I can get. :-)
