Re: A couple of questions???

hi! both are good questions...

1) YES you need to have periods..at least once every three months. it is NOT ok not to have them. the endometrial lining in your uterus can continue to build up over time causing hyperplasia and abnormal cells...eventually this can cause endometrial cancer..flushing your system out every three months seems to reduce the incidence of problems to that of the normal population.

2) i dont know what you mean by "real cysts" but the cysts on PCOS ovaries can sometimes be really painful. if they burst it can be bad (not medically i don't think, but painful). i have ended up in the ER because of the pain on multiple occassions. also, ovaries that are covered with cysts can also become enlarged causing pain...

hope this helps =)

love, paula
