Re: To KristyFrom: Kristy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 10 Jun 2002 21:26:15 -0700 (PDT)
Cat, I had the GTT in 1996 and it was very reliable. I have only dealt with two drs I don't like and didn't trust but most of the drs I have (including the Endocrinologist that diagnosed my PCOS thru process of elimination including GTT) I trust. If that dr would have thought that I would have had IR he would have treated me. Also I don't remember all the anti-seizure medicines I had as a child but I know that I had Phenobarb and Dilantin. Neither of them are related to why I have PCOS. Now I did take a hormone as a child called ACTH but I was told that was out of my system. If you would like to continue this discussion with you if you wish but off list. Also, pls respect the fact me when I say that I'm not IR. I know myself well enough to know that I don't have IR and I never once had symptoms of it. All I'm asking from everyone is to pls understand that not every woman with PCOS is IR. That GTT regardless of how long it is done for is accurate. ===== Kristy :) http://www.geocities.com/sokokl/kristyspersonalpage.html Hoping to be a nurse soon but for now just a Medical Secretary who does a lot of learning from reading on the Net, books, my dr(s), as well as sharing my own personal experiences.
