50g is quite a reasonable amount to low carb on per day. For breakfast I might have fried egg and mushrooms, lunch is normally a salad or cauliflower cheese, or omelette, dinner is fish and veg. I'm a pudding person, so I will have strawberries and cream, or sugar free jelly. Importantly, drink lots of water. (I should take my own advice!!!) I like the Atkins website, even if you don't follow Atkins it has some good menu / recipe ideas. If you have access to newgroups check out alt.support.diet.low-carb

Good luck, it isn't easy to do, but very worthwhile!

I too would like to know how the ladies who eat less than 100 carbs a day do it? I have just started a few days ago and am finding it difficult to stay under that mark let alone getting under 30 carbs/ day. I was just looking at Lori's example of her diet, isn't popcorn high carbo - I'm not sure? I also have a question, when buying groceries I have been reading the labels to find out how much carbs are in them, however I'm not sure which reading to go buy. For example:

Canned Apricot Halves CARBOHYDRATE - TOTAL = 9.5g - SUGARS = 6.2g

Do you just go buy the sugars reading or all carbs on total? Also does anyone eat wholemeal pasta Thankyou Kirstie Australia http://www.babiesonline.com/babies/c/calenpm
