Re: 50 grams of carbs a day?From: tera (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 8 Jun 2002 21:14:51 -0500 (CDT)
Hi! Alright -- this is a sample menu from when I'm really, REALLY good. Keep in mind that my carb levels are really low and I need to drop that low in order to lose (I'm really metabolically resistant). Experiment and drop your level of carbs slowly until you begin to lose. Everyone has a different level of carbs that they need to drop to in order to lose. Do it smart and add as many veggies as you can as they are important. As other ladies can attest to - you may want to ease into this low carbing thing and drop your level slowly until you find the level that is right for your weight loss. Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs with no milk with a sprinkle of cheese and some sauteed mushrooms and diced canadian bacon Lunch: baked chicken (I leave the skin off), or a mix of cold cuts and a green salad (make sure to use no sugar dressing on your salads - 0 carbs) Dinner: poached salmon, broccoli and a small salad or the cold avocado soup recipe in the Atkins book (soooo good but really decadent) ------ Breakfast: smoked salmon and some cream cheese Lunch: a large scoop of tuna salad or chicken salad with pecans and made with real light mayo (Hellmans is low), a mixed green salad Dinner: Chicken cordon bleu made with chicken breast topped with ham and broiled with a slice of swiss cheese and a salad ------ Breakfast: a garden omelet with mushrooms, broccoli, a little onion and a bit of chopped peppers Lunch: a large chicken caesar salad with no croutons Dinner: Steak or poached salmon or shrimp scampi or meatloaf, etc. with broccoli topped with cheese sauce, a few stuffed mushrooms and a green salad God bless, Tera
