?s about Glucophage XR/Glucophage and Provera..From: Ashly (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 7 Jun 2002 14:33:50 -0500 (CDT)
#1-I was dx with PCOS several months ago (anovulation/overweight/ammenorhea (sp?), was put on 1500 mg Glucophage and it worked like a charm (started ovulating instantly); 4 months later I heard about Glucophage XR and thought it sounded more convenient only having to take pills once a day, so my doc switched me over. Since then, I haven't been ovulating and haven't even had a period for the past 60 days (taken pg test and not pg). Does the type of glucophage make a difference or are there other reasons that it all of a sudden stopped working? #2-Now that I haven't had a period, Dr. prescribed Provera b.i.d. for 5 days. However--i don't know if I ate a couple pills in my sleep or what, but I can only account for taking 7 pills. Do I need to take the remaining 3 or will 7 be enough to induce a period? (In the past, I've responded easily to Provera) Thanks so much for taking the time to answer my questions- ashly
