3 lousy pounds??!!From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 6 Jun 2002 22:00:56 -0500 (CDT)
I started working out 3-4 times a week since May 2. I do about 50-60 min cardio each time, and weight machines twice a week. I started out at 5'5'' , 173lbs, 41.6% body fat. My goal is 135 lbs. Well after a month of diligent working out ( and reducing carbs), I went happily to get myself weighed. I was un pleasantly shocked to see that I lost only a little under 3 lbs, and my body fat dropped .3 of a percent to 41.3% !!! My size 14 jeans are sliding off my body without undoing the button... apparently i have lost about 8-10 inches around my body. How can that be only 3 pounds? and with the body fat going down only that amount (which equates to less than two pounds of body fat) it just doesn't seem to add up... I am not as concerned with the weight itself as I am with the body fat ... that is the killer. If I were 170 but had gained a lot of muscle mass weight I would be leaping with joy.... What do you guys think? My husband and friends were convinced i lost 8-10 lbs... DO these figures sound right to you? I hope not- at this rate I will surely lose hope ! ha ha ha I know others are having real problems, and this may seem frivolous- sorry! I just wanted you opinions, Thanks Tarissa
