I'm not sure if this is what you're talking about, but on this forum there's always discussion on and off about alcohol consumption and Glucophage. The reason you're not supposed to drink excessively with Glucophage is that your liver is already working overtime to deal with the medication, so loading it up with alcohol as well can cause problems.

It's also true that alcohol is converted to glucose in the blood very quickly I think, and certain drinks like wine or cocktails already have a large amount of sugar in them. So, it's not a great idea to load your body up on sugar anyway.

Boy, I am tired - I feel like I am rambling. Sorry about that! Hope I got my point across anyway....
