Glucophage does not lower blood sugars directly. It simply allows your body to use the insulin that it already produces. Its purpose is not to lower blood sugar. Many diabetics take the other pain killers all of the time.

I would talk to your doctor as opposed to an insurance nurse. It sounds like you may have a couple of doctors that would be able to help you with this (endocrinologist?, cardiologist?, family doctor?). You are right to be cautious and Tylenol is a good product but the insurance nurse should never be the first one you turn too when asking about OTC drugs.
