Some people have terrible reactions from alcohol just due to being IR, the glucophage seems to make it worse. Others can deal just fine and have no trouble. You'll have to try it. It's not going to kill you or anything as long as you don't drink more than 1 or 2 drinks at a time, and only once in a while (not every week).
>2) Does it make others tired- esp. at the beginning? I think that the glucophage takes a little while to get used to. It goes through a period where it is "cleaning out" your system for lack of a better term.... during this time your body is probably a little tired because the med is making a lot of changes. Also, are you on the generic or the brand name? My doctor will NOT prescribe the generic. She holds no faith in it whatsoever. (Reproductive endo with a lot of experience in PCOS and met...) I have also heard a lot of bad things about it, people saying they used the brand name and had great results, were switched to the generic by their pharmacy, and their symptoms started coming back. Others reported that with the generic they had more side effects, etc. There are people who do fine on the generic, but keep in mind that you need to watch to see whether you are one of them, and be willing to switch if you are not! Good luck.
