I have two separate questions: 1) I started taking metformin 2 nights ago and noticed that the bottle said, "Do not take this medication w/ alcohol. Does this mean NO alcohol whatsoever? If so, why? I do enjoy a few drinks on the weekend and would be sad to give that up... 2) Does it make others tired- esp. at the beginning? I am only taking a low dose at night, to start, but find myself so drowsy the past few days. It's not like I'm physically exhausted, more like I took some allergy medicine or something (which I didn't...). Any suggestions? Also, (I think b/c I'm on such a low dose?) I haven't really had any gastric side effects (so far, fingers crossed), but I did noticed that I had a decent size dinner last night and I felt soooo bloated afterwards. Any tips for this? Hoping the met works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
