One of the things to remember is that bacterial vaginitis can be passed betwen sex partners (male to female). My husband and I ping-ponged a bacterial infection between each other for months before the dr. figured it out. He was treated for his prostate infection and it would clear up, then I'd get vaginitis, etc. If you have a recurrent infection your partner should be checked for a prostate infection.
Vaginitis can also be the result of contamination of e-coli or some other bacteria. Unclean hands when changing a tampon can contribute to this.
A doctor told me one time to put dry boric acid (yes, that kidn that you find in the drug store) into empty pill capsules (the gel kind) and insert one to two into my vagina for three weeks. That worked, too.
It's important to have these things swabbed by your dr. and cultured if they are not improving by themselves.
Best wishes to all,

I'm wondering if Vaginosis is a side effect of PCOS. here's why i think so. your vagina is acidic in PH levels untill ovulation. during that time (ovulation) your vagina becomes more basic in PH levels to create a more harmoneous environment to get pregnant. Vaginosis is a condition where your vagina is too basic, (and then you get a fishy discharge, and it's just yucky all together) I'm wondering if because our hormone levels are usually high, if PCOS is linked to this. meaning, because our FSH is high, and this creates (in turn) the basic environment, if because these levels are too high, it's creating a too basic environment (PH levels) there by creating the vaginosis.
