I've had it about 4 times in 2 years. It generally followed a yeast infection I couldn't shake. Blood sugar problems (oft associated w/ PCO) are usually blamed for the yeast BUT following your logic the alkaline yeast inducing pH could be a contributing factor. Yeast hates acid which is why vinegar discourages its growth. My last bout w/ BV resisted two rounds of metro gel (prescription) so I took some penicillin pills I had handy and applied directly (suppository) for three nights in a row. Within 12 hours the burning/itching was gone and in 24 hours the visible symptoms were improving. Thanks for the info.
