I had my daughter in 96 and breast fed for 14 months. After I was done nurssing I expected to get my period again and when I didn't at 38 I expressed my concearns to my GYN but she said it was normal. This went on for a year and my doctor insisted it was normal. After having to be rushed to the hospital with pain and a high fever I saw a new doctor after I was released. The new doctor sid this was not normal and began testing. I was diagnosed w/ Asherman's Syndrome...eventually I had to have a hyterectomy because nothing was stopping the constant infections. After the hysterectomy the doctor said it was a good thing I had the Hyterectomy b/c I had adenmyosis and I could have died if I did not get the hyterectomy. What is the result of untreated and undiagnosed Asherman's syndrome? Does it lead to painful intercourse, discharge, severe uterine pain? Is adenmyosis related to Asherman's Syndrome? What are the causes and symtoms of Adenmoyosis and how is it treated? Could my ongoing pain and problems have been avoided by my first doctor diagnosing the Asherman's Syndrome? I had the Hysterectomy 1 year ago and I suffered w/ pain and re-occuring infections and different treatments until I had the Hyterectomy!
