More on Fasting InsulinFrom: Pat (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 29 May 2002 22:57:59 -0500 (CDT)
Here is the page I just created, that might help to answer some of the questions that have come up recently about IR/Syndrome X/PCOS/Diabetes and Hyperinsulinemia. http://home.attbi.com/~cnmpat/bloodsugarstages.htm As I was preparing this chart, I remembered that insulin levels are a fairly new thing, so many providers might not know about them, or know what they mean. Do a web search, and you will find very little about them. The test probably will become standard of care, but we are not there yet. So, there are other ways to obtain the information. But, in the meantime, use this page as a reference for trying to understand everything. Dr. Cabot's book is just great ! I think someone else made reference to it.
