Met and no periodFrom: Shalini (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 25 May 2002 22:52:42 -0500 (CDT)
Hello, I'm new to the forum but I searched on the web and found so many good answers here. I had a question regarding Metformin. I have been on it for about two and a half months now at varying dosages (anything about 1500 mg gives me severe cramping where I can't stand up straight) and after one month I got my period with no problems. After the second month, I expected my period again, but nothing happened. I took a few pregnancy tests, and my BBT temperature is elevated indicating I should have ovulated, but it has been too long. I am getting all the normal PMS symptoms: cramping, sore breasts, but no period yet. A week ago I got severe cramps and thought it might be an ectopic but they ceased with some ibuprofen and never returned. Has anyone else had a similar experience and have some advice? Also, I have problems with both facial hair and excessive hair loss on my head. I heard Saw Palmetto could solve this. Does it really work, and if so, how long does it take? Does is work better than something my dr. could prescribe? One last question: I heard that Dong Quai (my spelling may be wrong) can help you ovulate. DOes anyone have experience with this? Thank you! Shalini
