Why is this happening? Is it normal? From: AD (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 25 May 2002 13:53:03 -0500 (CDT)
Hello all... I was dx with PCOS 11 years ago. At that time my physician put me on BCP to regulate cycles. Over the past 5-6 years I've have seen countless other physicians who felt that to remain on the BCP is the best treatment for me. I have pursued many options with many physicians but because I am not TTC...none of them wanted to go any further than the BCP. I had been taking OrthoCept for the past 4-5 years until recently when I lost my medical coverage. Without the medical coverage the OrthoCept was costing me between $28-$35 monthly. So, I decided to visit a Planned Parenthood Center where I could save on the cost of pills. After all, the BCPs are what allow me to have a cycle each month...without them...I do not have cycles. The PPH Center I visited will be discontinuing the usage of OrthoCept within the month...so, they started me on a different pill....Nordette. I am on the beginning of the third week of the Nordette pills. Towards the end of the second week of the Nordette pills I started having spotting...now, at the beginning of the third week...I have a period. Why would this be? Is this normal? Could it just be my body reacting to new pills...or could it be something else? Thanks- Alexis
