I don't know what my calorie intake is or my carb gram intake. Counting would drive me crazy LOL. I know it's different everyday. Some days I'm more hungry, some days I'm not. I try to eat balanced meals, eat what I crave but stay away from the "bad" carbs, and listen to my body. >

I started gaining weight around age 28, and seriously after 35. >

There are a couple girls here who can explain this better than me because they are more knowledgable, but I THINK how it works is that the increased insulin in our bodies causes the glucose level to drop somehow. IR sometimes feels like low blood sugar. On the other hand, when glucose is too high and insulin is low, that's diabetes. IR and diabetes are like opposites. I think. :) Yes, ask your doctor to test your fasting early morning glucose AND insulin. Carb load for 3 days before the test, and don't fast for more than 8 hours before the test. If that doesn't work and you are still not satisfied, but are experiencing lots of pcos or IR symtpoms, you may want to consider a GTT (3-5 hour glucose tolerance test) where both the glucose and insulin levels are tested at the same times. >
