Re: New PCOS...what to expectFrom: Rebecca (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 22 May 2002 10:07:45 -0500 (CDT)
Thanks for the replies both on here and in private. I have two questions. First, can someone comment that has had PCOS for many years (8+). How do you feel? How many pills do you take a day? Do you have a "normal" life as far as eating, grooming (specifically hair removal) etc., have you had children since you were diagnosed? I was about to get engaged before this, but I want my boyfriend to know what he's getting into and myself as well. Also, the BCP question, for non birth-control purposes. I know this group is pretty much against them (and I'm all for less pills) but what does it help with other than forcing periods and clearing up acne? I mean, as far as the actual physical condition, what does the BCP do for it? Also, the hormone thing is a confusing thing to me, but I'm continuing the research. Thanks for everyone's help and support. I wish I could go to the conference, but it's not possible this year.
