When I was younger, I was able to manage IR with diet and exercise, staying real slim, etc. But as I got older, my body had a harder and harder time fighting the inevitable on it's own, and now I regret not knowing enough to do something about it sooner, as the IR did a lot of damage to my body.

Again, this is my own personal experience and this may not apply to everyone.
