It depends on 1) the lab ranges, 2) your T4 and T3 levels, 3) whether you have thyroid antibodies, but on a whole while most people are between 1-2 you are a little high. If you have symptoms of thyroid disease you could ask your doctor for an 8 week low dose trial. Some doctors prefer to let their patients get truly hypo before treatment - which isn't such a great idea, IMHO, but there is a possiblity that treatment will make you hyper because you're so borderline.

I don't know if there are 12mcg pills, you could ask for 25mcg or even try 25mcg every other day.

-Be cautious getting hyper can be worse than being slightly hyper.
