If you do low-carb strictly, then you actually metabolize your fats differently, and it's not as much of a problem. My cholesterol and triglicerides are much lower now than they were when I was eating a low-fat diet. The thing to watch for is your total calorie intake for the day. If you eat more carbs than you utilize, then you will gain weight, or at least not lose. Fatty foods are more calorie dense, so you have to eat less of them to keep your total calories down. Renee
