Hi Candi,

I'm still learning but so far, I would say from what I've read, you want to get something that will lower your carbs but is still balanced. The American Diabetes Association diet is very good for PCOS and also Weight Watchers, as long as you don't spend 100% of your points on carbs and you balance it out.

I went back to Weight Watchers 2 weeks before I was diagnosed just cause I was so tired of being fat and so far I have lost 13 lbs in 13 weeks.

Knowing what I ate before I went back to Weight Watchers, I've probably cut my carb intake by 50% but I still get to eat some carbs and don't feel deprived. I've tried diets that totally eliminate carbs completely and I get hypoglycemic when I don't have some carbs in the diet and then I break down and give in to the carb craving and eat 10 times more carb than I should.

Find something balanced. Exercise also helps to lower blood sugar, cholesterol and blood pressure too.

13 lbs in 13 weeks only another 49 to go and I won't be thin, but I will at least be comfortable and average. I feel so much better already just losing 13 lbs!!!

Speaking of exercise, I think I'm going to go take a walk. I've been sitting too much today. Good luck finding a diet/life style change that works for you.

Diane
