In the beginning of strength training you will get extremely sore. The first time you go through a muscle group will be the hardest, it can take three days to recover. When I did my biceps I couldn't extend my arms for days. Make sure you stretch on your off days especially when you are sore(I learned this the hard way).

You can expect to feel great, feel stronger and see a firmer more toned body over time.

Your skin will look better as the blood flow increasees. I feel that I look younger.

I don't know the answer to this. I would suggest that you get blood work done as you lose weight and compare the results.

You do need to increase carbs when you work out. Just make sure they are complex carbs. I eat a mostly carb diet because I eat a mostly vegetarian diet.
