Premarin does seem to increase ther risk of blood clots but I am unaware of any studies that have been done on the effects of Premarin when used only once a week. You may want to talk to your primary care physician about this. Your pharmacist may also be able to help you make a more informed decision. They seem to hear about the problems with drugs more than the physicians.

I have also never heard of taking progesterone once a week in order to bring on a period. I do not have a clue as to how this would work. We naturally have a rise in progesterone in result to ovulation and after that rise subsides, it triggers us to have a period. I do not know how taking it once a week would help give you a "normal" cycle. You may want to talk to your other doctor(s) and pharmacist about this as well.
