So long as you are NOT taking the XR (extended release) version of Glucophage you should start cutting your pills and work up slowly to your prescribed dose...many doctors are too impatient and lacking personl Glucophage experience so they won't give this same advice from the "get-go" but I will tell you that it saved my life (and my anus for that matter :) Good luck and email me if you need help.
