premarin vaginal cream and blood clots - please helpFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 4 May 2002 22:03:03 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, I have PCOS and I am being treated by an endocrinoligist. I am taking metform 1000mg and spironolactone 200mg/per day. My Dr just prescribed premarin vaginal cream to be insterted 1 time per week to see if this helps bring on menstruation. I had a blood clot in my leg after knee surgery two years ago and developed a pulmonary embolism. My Dr does know this and he says that using premarin vaginal cream once a week would not be enough to make me get a blood clot. I did get the prescription filled but I am not sure if I want to use this, as I do not want to take any chances of developing a clot. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it. Thanks!
