Hi!

I am taking Spiro, Saw Palmetto, Glucophage, etc. I don't think it is dangerous to take them all together. Saw Palmetto does not work the same exact way that Spiro does and it is probably not as effective but I do not know that for sure. I don't know if it's better than Spironolactone or Aldactone -- I don't know if there have been any studies on this (I don't think so).

It is kind of strange that the Aldactone has not helped you with water retention since it is a diuretic. Weren't you using the bathroom more often? I am taking 100 mg per day of Spiro and I am noticing that my wedding ring is fitting better and I have to get up a few times every night to RACE to the bathroom because I have to go so bad! I think it is also used for cirhosis patients to help with their water retention. It sounds kind of like weird but are you drinking enough water? Drinking too much caffeine? Eating a lot of salt? It is strange, Monica. I hope more women reply to you. God bless, Tera
