Re: Positive Result with Ovarian Surgery

Hi:

I had ovarian drilling done in September of 1994 as a last-ditch attempt to get pregnant with my second child. For personal reasons, I elected not to try fertility injections, so for me, this surgery was my last attempt at pregnancy.

My doctor did bilateral lasering of my ovaries. The only result (at first) was that my bowel adhered to my ovaries. (Ouch!) Six weeks later, they unstuck my bowel and two weeks after that I got the first unassisted menstrual cycle I had had in over two years of trying to get pregnant. I skipped the next month, and the month aftr that (February 1995) I took Clomid and ovulated and got pregnant with my son David, who is now 6. I only have two children, both boys, 10 and 6, who were both conceived with Clomid.

I would suggest that you invest in an ovulation predictor kit so you will know when y ou are ovulating, and do the "baby making dance" as often as you can to ensure that you will have everything in place shoudl you ovulate. Best wishes to you in your quest.

Hugs,

Donna in Utah
