The hair does not turn dark or coarse due anything you do to it externally. It is dark or coarse from the root of the hair because of what is going on inside of you. It can take a year before you have big improvements when using spiro. or any other anti-androgen.

The spiro should help prevent the hair from turning dark if it is not already turning dark. It should also help prevent new hairs from coming in. I have found with the Glucophage and low carbing that I have had a reduction in hair. It took about 1 1/2 years but I no longer have some of the hair in inappropriate places (even family has noticed). I have only a few hairs on my chin and the hair on my arms is almost invisible. The hair on my legs is much finer than it used to be.

Your hair grows in different cycles. It has a growing phase and a dormant phase. It takes a while for all of your hair to become effected by the lower testosterone in your system.

You will know if the spiro is working just by looking at the hair as it is coming in. If you let it grow, it may appear lighter or thinner. If you shave, you may find that you do not have to shave as frequently or that the hair is thinner. If you pluck or wax, you may find that you do not have to do that as frequently as well.

Cannot help you with creams, Tera may know of some. All of them are too harsh for me, eventually, but then again, I am allergic to most sun screen also. :-)
