I've read about PCOS in several magazine articles and the symptoms seemed really familiar. I scheduled a doctors appointment about it but it's not for another couple of weeks. I thought maybe I could post my symptoms and maybe someone can tell me if they are similar to ones you've had.

I started my period when I was 14 but was never regular. I didn't woory about it thinking over time it would regulate. It never did (I'm 20 now). The last period I had was late Dec. That's pretty typical for me. Afew months w/out, 2 months with, etc...

I've always been pear shaped but in the past two years I've gotten a big tummy that won't seem to budge.

I've also started to grow thicker leg hair and upper lip hair. I was always pretty hairless to start w/ so it's still not that excessive buts it's significantly more than before. I've also gotten a thin layer of hair all over my stomach. especially in the "happy trail" area. My upper thighs have in the last year or so gotten pretty hairy.

I've been losing lots of hair for 2 years now. I've been to doctors several times about it. They ran tests but didn't find anything so they said it must just be stress. I don't think I've been stressed for two years straight though! The hair loss is mostly on the top and I'd say I've lost 1/4 to 1/3 of my hair in that area these last two years. :(

I'm slightly overweight.

My breasts recently have this strange rough patchy texture on them. They also seem to have a slightly dirty appearance though it isn't dirt cause it won't come off. This is going to sound nuts but they seem to be getting smaller. This may be because I've lost some weight recently though.

I've also had depression and anxiety issues.

Does this sound familiar? Does it sound like I might have PCOS? If so is there any medication to help some of the symptoms- especially the hair loss and growth?
