Trisomy 16 question for the doctor

I have had two MC's. One at 6 weeks, the most recent at 9 weeks. The second one I had to have a D/C and chromosomes analysis of the fetus indicated a trisomy 16. I am 33 years old, do not have any other children. These have been my only two pregnancies both of which I achieved easily(1st try on both). My OB said that he wouldn't refer me to a genetic counselor until I was pregnant again?? I am somewhat confused by this as I am wondering what my risks are that it will happen to me again. I am also wondering if because I have had two mc's with the last one being a trisomy 16 am I at risk for other disorders in this area? ie: Downs syndrome? Should I pursue seeing a genetic counselor now? or was this just bad luck?

Any thought would be appreciated
