Help me figure out these resultsFrom: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 15 Apr 2002 14:13:01 -0500 (CDT)
I saw my RE last week on what could have been day 9 of my cycle. He ordered the following tests: Estradiol which came back at 90 (isn't that a little high?) What does having a high estradiol level mean? Testosterone: 46, nurse said that was fine. Is that true? DHEA: 780 which the nurse said was LOW? Everything I've read said that this is VERY high. Is it dangerously high? Progesterone .1. The RE said he was trying to determine where in my cycle I was based on these hormone levels, to see if the bleed I had on April 1 was a real period or anovulatory bleeding. Do these numbers mean anything to you? Is the DHEA level way too high? The nurse also said that PCOSers typically have low levels of DHEAs--that's wrong isn't it? My RE doesn't think I have PCOS, he just thinks I am chronicaly anoulatory with cysts on my ovaries. Thanks for any help you can provide.
