Does anyone know why calcium would be contradicted for a person?

I cannot remember exactly why -almost two years ago;I was told *not* to take calcium supplements. Now a different specialist gave me the A -okay. I have always know that calcium and magnesium were to be taken together, with the ratio of calcium being 2:1. Does it have anything to do with pro time...clotting factor?-I think this is what I was told originally.I don't have high concentrations of calcium in my blood. Thanking you in advance.
