Was misdiagnosed for about 6 months by an ignorant internist, who insisted it was my colon. Meanwhile, cysts had grown around my left ovary so bad...after my own GYN did the surgery (complete hysterectomy) she told me what she had discovered while operating. Her words: "The surgery was definitely necessary. If we had waited much longer to do it, gangrene was beginning to set in." It took this nutty internist 6 months to arrive at a correct diagnosis.
