Been there-still there at times. Talk to your primary practicioner about this, and tell him to refer you to either a phsychologist or psychiatrist. When moodiness gets uncontrollable and is starting to interfere with personal aspects of your life;it is wise to seek professional counseling. Although PCOS is associated with mood swings because of the hormonal fluctuations....progesterone etc....it still is a good idea to have someone to redirect you to a specialist who can help you get to the root of the problem. Many women have had success with talk therapy ,with or without the use of some anti depressant medications. As for the bcp's...everyone will react differently.I personally disagree with bcp's being used for depression. That is something that only your doctor can decide.Trial and error.

Any depression lasting longer than two weeks, requires attention. The anger is associated with depression/mood swings.Definitely can be hormonal. Don't feel alone-we all have our fair share of depression and irritability. Also, your doctor seems totally unsmpathetic...if he cannot see that this is disturbing your life..then find another doctor that will listen!Till you do find one that is willing to listen-we're all here to listen and offer advice as best as we can.
